The Duffers.............

They really are bum shots :) :)

Maybe - but masterful bum shots :D

I've become a bit of a "specialist" duffer this year ...

its this kind of dedication and perseverance ive come to expect from the members of this forum:D

Everyone is clearly trying here.

likewise

Great thread - and most of these are better than Ive produced at all when it comes to bird photgraphy.

It got me thinking (but ive had a rest so now i'll continue), would any one within 40 miles of Manchester be willing to teach me a bit about it, cos i'm going seriously wrong somewhere. Have car, willing to travel.

Neil.

I see that your call has already been answered - good teacher there

But my all time favourite duffer shot has to be my headbanger Wren!

Cheers for posting CT - I reckon this is harder work than your mobile phone competition of the Summer.

I had moved most of my stuff to an external hard drive. Had a quick look for you.

Wonderful use of DOF!!!

Here's my offering. A faster shutter speed and it might have been a good one.

:nono: very low standard Charlie - you got a some in focus and also some sharp detail.

Brings tears to your eyes to see quality like this :D

This is a great thread, makes me feel right at home

Cheers Susie - glad it is a source of aspiration to you....... please participate.

Some of you are not trying ....

Nice cold day, two pairs of gloves, not realising that you had knocked the focus switch from continuous to single, set up on tripod waiting for that elusive shot, suddenly a large female sparrowhawk flies over your shoulder .... focus ... focus ... focus ... bugger :D

The only PP was a slight crop, no noiseware or sharpening has been applied to this shot.

Just to add I could have posted another blurred Kingfisher diving out of frame shot, but they are easy :D

Edit: Do you think I should have cloned out the phone line

Believe it or not this was the one and only time I ever saw a Goldcrest in the garden...

Cheers Cedric ... cream always rises to the top ;)

I must admit disappointment in most of the other shots posted, as you can still identify the bird :naughty:

Cedric you need to try harder .... those are sharp and in focus

... or this, not a bird of course but... I have several animal-type ones that defy explanation sometimes!

Good effort Martyn but if I may say its a bit sloppy leaving that phone line in :D

Its a Giraffe ... I can put my Collins Bird Guide away then :naughty:

 Well this one has been foxing me all day Martyn - could find any 4 legged species in the Collins Bird Guide so I am just working on a hunch.........

mind you I havn't discounted that it could be some migrant varianty just blown in. That is of course that this shot was even taken in the UK........

will investigate further........

Course it was in the UK - no sun!

Looking closely, it looks a bit wrinkled and creased ... is one of Frac's new hides :cautious:

 Not too sure on that one = you managed to get everything else wrong so no sun should not be a problem.......

The most frustrating, soul destroying, annoying and almost perfect shot I've ever took...

Anthony
