I've had a lengthy stroll around the perimeter of the power station with no strange looks.
It's definitely one of the most amazing locations in the UK. I can't wait to head back there.
I guess there'll be places for both of them but the gimbal will eventually win out for the casual user at least simply because it requires less learning and looks more impressive for certain shots.
There are already Chinese gimbals for well under a grand and they can only get cheaper. Gimbal...
A Blackmagic would produce amazing results but is serious overkill for youtube and the crop factor might trip things up.
I have a 5d3 as well. I think dynamic range for standard video is in the region of 10 stops. It also has the Magic Lantern raw option which has managed 14 stops but the...
Sliders and cranes add plenty of production value. I guess it depends on how fancy they want to be.
A good editing program that works on all levels of machine would be Sony Vegas Movie Studio. You can upload direct to Youtube from there. You may find the editing program bundled on your...
I have a Sony HX20 for days out and about. The video is excellent. The photo side isn't so hot, especially when it dips into the digital zoom, but I have managed some satisfying images.
All of these experiences do make me wonder whether Sony should just relabel it their second hand outlet. I've never bought a refurb which didn't look as new.
I use a feelworld monitor that cost about £100 or so. It's HD and does a good job. There are a ton of budget options out there. Have a look here for plenty of real world experiences with budget monitors http://personal-view.com/talks/categories/monitors-viewfinders

Lightworks is likely to be pretty demanding of your computer hardware though if it costs nowt then it's got to be worth a try.
Sony Vegas Movie Studio runs well on older machines. You can often find it for about £30.
Lots of stuff can take a gopro. Most full size quadcopters can carry one. You can get kits from China from £120 upwards that would do a respectable job. The X525 is one of the cheapest and most popular but a remote is extra and you often have to build it unless you buy a ready to fly one...
Could not resist.
For anyone who's thinking of it you can get Argos cashback by clicking through the usual cashback sites and the 15-85 lens also qualifies for £55 Canon winter cashback even as part of a bundle.
It's all down to personal taste I guess. The 5d so far hasn't done it for me but I'll keep trying. There's also the matter of price as well though. Even a well used 5d2 is twice as much as a GH2.
5d mk1s don't have any video function at all. That was only added on the mk2. I have a GH2 and a 5d mk3.
Though the colours aren't as nice, the GH2 offers a much more satisfying picture to my eyes. The detail and resolution is higher and the hacks offer lots of further possibilities.
