    first rant of 2011..Petrol prices!

Public transport barely has sufficient capacity for its regular users, despite the massive costs involved in using it - don't think there would be enough space for any of the nations car drivers to squeeze on board even if they wanted to. Not buying a particular oil companies fuel won't do...

Changing cars / driving on snow

Sounds like you need to shop around! I'm a similar age to you but have a VX220 Turbo, which is group 19 insurance and I'm paying £480 a year with 6 years no claims bonus. I also have a 1.2l 16v clio for the daily grind and get ~ 55mpg (50% spirited driving on fast B roads 50% M40). So it...

    ..even more flame spitting GT1s

yeah - although we were moving about quite a bit, even during the sessions. there were a fair few people on the spectator side of the fence with some serious photographic kit - thought there must have been a few TP'ers amongst them! looking at the shape of the flame - it looks like percyp...

    ..even more flame spitting GT1s

Nearly didn't bother going to this as the weather was supposed to be a bit damp & thunderstormy - turned out nice though & the late GT1 session was great for glowing brakes and flaming exhausts! all comments welcome.. 1 2 3 4 5 6

    Too fat to work!

but water supports the mass of marine mammals, giving them a graceful beauty. perhaps we should insist the Chawners live fully submersed in the atlantic, until they more closely resemble a land based mammal. :D

    Too fat to work!

... also on the more general subject of benefits. i think in spain there is a requirement for you to have been employed for atleast 6months before you can claim benefits, and then the duration that you can claim for is linked to how long you were working. the french pay your benefits as a...

    Too fat to work!

the ability to efficiently store excess energy as body fat is infact genetic - and up until recently would have been an extremely desirable genetic trait to posses, as it allows one to gorge on food during times of plenty and live off the blubber when it gets tough. these days we don't have...

    Drag Race firsts

Think #3 works best from a photographic point of view. Subject matter in #1 lets it down a bit (ford granny) but I do like how it has captured the brutal force these cars put through their tyres under heavy acceleration - deformation of that right rear tyre is mental!

Quote: ' IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It.

Admire the no-nonsense approach, although I do find it mildly amusing given that the first human inhabitants of the Australian continent were actually aboriginal people rather than those decending from more recent Dutch and British settlers / prisoners! Makes him more than a little...

    F15's on the loop

#1 looks great. good composition with aircraft positioning and horizon, but wingtip vortices and heat haze make it. where is 'the loop'? (i assume it's a geographical location rather than some kind of manouvre!)

    some of my car pics

As others have said looks like your exposure is a bit out - some how managed to underexpose the cars a bit and over expose the sky! If you shot in raw you could probabley sort it out with a bit of fiddling. they don't ;)

    TVR Sagaris MKII

put me down for #2 - just looks clean and simple. it is clearly deliberate but #4 & 6 feel too cluttered to me. was #2 actually taken in the dark? or is it pp'd? if it is a night shot what was your lighting setup? also - whats going on in 5 - you use some kind of smoke machine? or is...

One more WRC couldn't hurt could it?

    # 5 is my personal favourite  car looks good shifting along leaving that muddy mist behind it. obligatory wheel blur plus also like the angle - taken from slightly below road level - wanted to get more from that sort of angle myself but most of the viewing areas were obviously above...

    WRC Rally GB

yeah - was quite annoying as there was all sorts of clutter - some of it deliberate like the Rally GB banners - but also lots of 'rubbish' like wooden pallets, random tyres and rusting pieces of corrugated sheet metal littering the place. :bang: yeah, had to do a quick sweep through as soon...
