    ....and one more (Jaguar).

I like the blurred foreground. I assume you were in a boat when you took the photo? Was it a case of hanging over the edge holding the camera just above the water?

    Sri Lanka

I spent a couple of weeks backpacking around in 2013 or 2014. It's probably the easiest country in the world to see leopards as they're the apex predator there. If memory serves, I saw four on one drive in Yala. Annoyingly, the other vehicle that went out from the guesthouse I was staying in saw...

Mirrorless Canons, EF-EOS R adapters and EF-S lenses...

I've been looking at this lens for a while and wondering what the catch is as it seems like very good specs for the money. If there isn't a catch I'll probably pull the trigger soon.

Ultra-wide for Canon FF (EF fitment)

I used the same lens for the Northern Lights photos shown in this thread.

    Wild Straight down the lens

Very nice. Is this a bird that you're aware of and try to photograph regularly? Seems like getting a shot like that without being aware of the bird's habits would be close to impossible?

    Some people !!

I used to know a couple that constantly moaned about the crowds every time Hearts had a home match. Hearts' stadium, Tynecastle, has been there since 1886!

    Wild Red Ape

Really nice shots. Which park were they taken in? I saw them in Gunung Leuser National Park, Sumatra five or six years ago. I'd love to go back to that part of the world and see them in a different area some day.

Red ape BBC2 now please watch

Iceland have promised that their own brand products will be palm oil free by the end of the year. I sent them an email saying that I'm going to make an effort to buy their products now rather than their competitors. I should probably send a similar email to their competitors saying that I'll...

    Canon lens hoods

I picked up a third party hood for my 17-55 kit lens for around £5 on Amazon whereas the Canon version is £15 and up depending on where you buy from. Might as well just get the third party version as it's only a bit of plastic.

Hitler rants about the new Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K

I would be very surprised if the company that produces the camera made this video. If you click onto the Youtube link you'll see that the video is hosted on a personal channel that has 0 subscribers. This is something that will have been knocked up in 5 minutes by a bored teenager.

    Canon 450d upgrade

I've just upgraded from the 450D to the 750D. Handling seems to be very similar, which is a good thing for me. I haven't had a chance to get outside and shoot properly with it yet but initial signs are encouraging. Focusing seems to be reasonably fast and accurate and the pictures are nice and...

    Wild Black-browed albatross in flight

Both photos were taken on Bird Island, Falkland Islands. They're jpegs taken straight out of the camera, I haven't done any editing to the RAW files yet. Any comments and criticism are welcome. I think that the albatross' eye is a bit out of focus in one of the shots. Anything that I can do...

    Flash for wildlife photography

Thanks for the advice. I ended up getting a very good deal on a mint condition 430EXII. I should be able to sell it for the same amount I bought it for if/when I decide to upgrade.

    Bottlenose dolphin off Llangranog, Ceredigion

Composition looks great as it is. It's a very nice shot. I'm very much a beginner when it comes to Photoshop but I think it might be possible to bring out a bit more detail around the mouth and eye region by lightening it a bit?

    Beginner First 'Non Auto' steps

Search for images that you like then try to replicate them. I found the Wildlife Photographer of the Year series of books useful as they give the camera settings next to the photo.
