Hitler rants about the new Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K

Though the actorial performance is a brilliant enactment of historical
events, I think that this is a tasteless approach to product promotion.

It is not the fact that I've been living in German speaking country, nor
is it any kind of support, affiliation or else to those depicted in these
scenes and their agenda, but I believe this video has the same value
as promoting ice cream using footage of the aftermath of Hiroshima
or promoting beer using as background the misery in the Gaza strip.

Maybe my sense of humour still has to grow up… I don't know. I am
not shocked or insulted… it is just tasteless.

Different cultures have different sense of humour.

I find this quite amusing :)

I think if you can speak German then it's not really going to work for you.

It's not product promotion, these are just parodies by individuals based on the 2004 film Downfall. Whatever you do don't go onto youtube and search for Hilter Rant's you won't be amused.

I don’t think this is product promotion. These “Downfall” parodies are usually private efforts. I find most of them very funny but maybe it’s a tribute to the acting/directing that I always seem to retain the awareness of the original subject. I don’t think it’s ever wrong to make fun of Hitler :(

Totally tastless. I'm pleased that stuff like this does not amuse me.

That's very clear to me, Ken and my reaction would possibly be
different had it been a parody production of the same situation.
Monty Python style even…

That very production, however, was the epitome of cinematogra-
phic both documentary and play from these regrettable events.

Ice cream and pickles, both well known goodies, don't marry very
well except for a part of humanity in specific given condition! :D

Maybe so but I think it helps to remind people about Hitler which is perhaps particularly necessary in these times :(

Could you please enlighten me?
I really fell like I'm not informed of this.

>< :D
The clip reminds me more of John Cleese’s rants in “Fawlty Towers” — from 1974 so he didn’t base them on “Downfall” in any way ;)

Brexit and Trumpism, curiously both led by Germans - Farage and Trump ;).
(This is NOT a dig at Germans, like Farage and Trump I’m sort of one myself).

I have a liking for "black humour" so I don't see a problem with this. I do understand that it could be taken too far, eg Gaza and icecream, but why shouldn't we see the humour in the macabre? Hitler did monstrous things, but in the end he was a pathetic little man who could think of nothing more brilliant than to shoot himself. The real villain was humanity (we gave him power) and one of the few ways of coping with that is ridicule.

Yes, and we are still doing it:(

The thing that amazes me is not that we are brutal and stupid, but that we sometimes are not and we seem to get things right. Probabilities suggest that this is unlikely to last very long once we have multiple paths to destroy ourselves.

Black humour has long been a part of the UK psyche, and parodies of Hitler and other terrible individuals are engrained throughout popular culture throughout wartime and peace.
Though these 'MEME' type films perhaps fall into a different category - they are not directly lampooning Hitler and I do wonder whether the message will be lost on the youngest of our current generation who may not know who he even is.

In my mind it's an advertising fail.

Downfall parody's have been going for years, if a company thinks it's breaking ground producing their own, it's a miss for me.

I would be very surprised if the company that produces the camera made this video. If you click onto the Youtube link you'll see that the video is hosted on a personal channel that has 0 subscribers. This is something that will have been knocked up in 5 minutes by a bored teenager.

there a lots of similar on Utube, using the same scenes from "Downfall" - none are produced by the companies concerned or are product endorsements - they are produced by Utubers to get views, (and as their interpretation of what they think is funny)

It has been going on for a while!: http://hitlerparody.wikia.com/wiki/History_of_Downfall_parodies
It's not advertising, but jokers often pick some well-known product or company that has had a setback as a theme.

I had never seen this before. I haven't had such a good laugh in ages. Hitler was a monster, but he was also a pathetic little b*****d who, in the end, deserved to be ridiculed. Some people admire monsters but few want to emulate the ridiculous.

There's no defined method for measuring video sensor dynamic range, so I'll take that number with a pinch of salt.

Looks like a release at IBC, will try and check it out.

Re-reading this thread… you may have a point there.

Yesterday, I covered an event where too many dignitaries had to give
a speech. I was surprised to hear the very close similarity to the old
spoken german… as AH did — I dislike that. This no sign of affiliation
to the ideology but a sign of cultural attachment to the very old spirit
and dream to uniting all the small deutsch designated communities,
already under the Preußenkönig Friedrich II, der Große (Frederick the
Great) under a "Deutsch Nation".
