Remember John, Your camera captures it, your mind & editing software finishes it. It's a very good start and a lot of people have told you things that will help, already. With a few small adjustments in Lightroom the picture pops a little better.

Would be better to use the DODGE tool in Lightroom to lighten the eyes up. If using Lightrooms brush, at 0.25 or 0.50 exposure adjustment, use a low flow around 10, density at 100, 50 feather and build up the affect, or you'll get glowing eyes, that's a good start. Also pay more attention to...

I got around 200 shots in total really, most are snaps as I was with family and friends both times so don't like to be holding everyone up while I'm composing and what not and I'm still wary of photographing random people. I'll be going on my own next year though as there is loads of potential...

I used Lightroom's adjustment brush tool and raised the exposure to 0.5 and set the flow to 30 and painted over the model, nothing particularly difficult but certainly shows how small adjustments can make a big difference. Thanks for your comment :thumbs: Thanks for the comments, won't tell...

Yes mate, the pad indeed all were shot there. Yeah the PA speaker isn't going to be for everyone, I kinda wanted it in the shot but not so much it detracted from the guy playing, like I said not going to be to everyone's taste but I appreciate the comment dude :thumbs:

Cheers Kris, most of the pictures are around that focal length, the stage area was pretty small and there was a lot of stuff which IMO would have made the bg even more busy than usual. I'll see if I can pick some out and hopefully FLICKR will allow me to upload some more. I'll certainly have a...

It was indeed my first shoot using a seamless paper bg and the lights. Trust me the posing was not easy, direction doesn't come naturally to me and like I said the model was a friend and not a pro or amateur model. I downloaded an iPad app for posing, so next time I'll be ready, that time was...
