Some good shots. Love the Victor. There's something about the styling of it that just looks mean. It's got the same ugly beauty as the Buccaneer and Phantom have. Would love to have heard the Lightning there as well.
Sorry to hear this has happened, OP. This thread however may well provide the push I needed to get a more reliable backup than simply an external hard drive. Definitely going to look at either a NAS box or online backup now.
Thanks for the comments.
The place does have some interesting detail in parts. The ceiling detail in 2 and 4 is quite odd. I can't help but think that number 4 is the lettuce or cauliflower room.
Thanks a lot DEANSUPREME and doublemint76.
There's actually no flash used at all in any of the pictures. They are all available light with the exception of the second which was partially lit by a street light which is just visible at the top of the frame. 1 and 4 were shot under a bridge...
Nice. I've never actually made it into Glasgow Cathedral.
The shots in St Giles were my first outing with my D700 the other week as well. The iso performance was actually better than I'd been expecting. It's just so good to finally have the ultra wide that I bought years ago act as such now...
Thanks for the comments and for the welcome. I joined a couple of years ago but just spent my time lurking so figured it was time to actually join in. :)
Cheers!
There was some time before a soundcheck so we headed out for a few shots of the DJ before the gig. Any feedback would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

That seems much better than the 17-35mm in the corners. It was only recently that I used it on the D700 after years of using it on a crop and was somewhat disappointed with its edge performance. The 16-35 seems like quite a bargain in comparison.
I'd probably go with the D7000. It's by far the better camera imagewise, however I will echo what others have said about the size. For me it was a problem...especially with something heavy like a 70-200 attached. I'm not usually into buying grips although it was the only thing that seemed to...
Hello, all. I was just wondering if anyone could possibly point me in the direction of some talented wedding photographers in Edinburgh? It would be good to get some first hand recommendations from people here rather than soley relying on viewing the various sites thrown up by google.
