    Mic choice.

I have a Nikon V1 and a Zoom H1 (with lav mic when required). I have tended to have the Zoom to record the audio and then use the headphone/aux socket of the Zoom to go into the mic input of the V1, as it makes it easier to sync the audio later. I've not used a shockmount however - I've tended...

    Nikon 1 Series (V1/ V2/ J1 etc) owners thread....

Has anyone tired of their 18.5mm f1.8 yet? I'm looking at picking one up (hopefully in black!) if anyone wants to move theirs on.

    Nikon 1 Series (V1/ V2/ J1 etc) owners thread....

Really enjoying using my V1 and kit lens. Much lighter than my D90 but fairly similar feeling in operation. Even the lack of dials hasn't been an issue - I've only nudged the mode dial once so far too. A couple of shots from a recent trip: Untitled by fistameeny, on Flickr Untitled by...

Anyone tried LED lamp bulbs for home/office use?

Someone I know has replaced some 50w GU10's with these - http://www.chsinteractive.co.uk/electrical-components/lighting-lamps-bulbs-torches-etc/lamps-bulbs-reflector-spot-led/led-spot-gu10-gz10-4-0w-ledx3-240v/lamp-spot-ledx3-gu10-4watt-38d-beam-angle-warm-white-220-240v-lumineux.htm - and is...

    Nikon 1 Series (V1/ V2/ J1 etc) owners thread....

I've just bought a V1 with 10-30 lens - seems great so far. Can anyone recommend a good, small shoulder case to fit just the V1 and 10-30?

    Artificial Grass, anyone got some

Ah, makes sense if you think about it, which if you do, you wish you didn't ;-)

    Artificial Grass, anyone got some

As you're in Birstall, have a chat to the guys at Farmac in Pudsey. They sell the Verdegrass artificial turf, e.g.: http://www.farmac.co.uk/products/view/landscaping-turf-topsoil-bark-compost/verdegrass Or perhaps you fancy something a bit more, ahem, colourful...

Using a monopod with walkabout lens?

Well for example, photos with water or movement of some kind. I might want to lower the shutter speed for creative effect. I'm not expecting miracles but would like the ability to take photos and add some movement.

Using a monopod with walkabout lens?

Thanks for all the replies. I think I should maybe keep an eye out for a VR replacement lens, or just not be so lazy and take my tripod.

Using a monopod with walkabout lens?

I can do it quite happily with a VR lens. Or with my LX3 (smaller I know). However, I can do it. Anyway, does anyone use a monopod for anything other than big, big lenses?

Using a monopod with walkabout lens?

A higher ISO won't help me. I could solve my problem by using the tripod, but I find it too cumbersome to take out and about. I seem to have pretty shaky hands, so even though my stance is pretty firm, I'm unable to hand hold at shutter speeds from 1/30s to 1/10s. I figured a monopod would help...

Using a monopod with walkabout lens?

Hi, I have a Nikon 18-70mm lens which is fine for what I need, quality wise. However, I find that I'm unable to get consistently sharp photos in certain situations I use it for. Therefore, I'm contemplating replacing it with a VR lens of a similar range. However, a monopod would be quite a...

    Panasonic LX3 / LX5 - does anyone use a viewfinder?

Hi, Just wondering if any of you LX3/LX5 users use a viewfinder with it? If so, what type? I gather the EVF is expensive and not great quality wise, but I'm wondering if anyone uses an optical one instead. Matt
