Hi gramps i always shoot in manual mode anduse auto iso but concentration on focus points as i dial in the shutterspeed first maybe its my only option.
Hi people,
I was wondering is there a way to use a desired function button to a program shutter mode. The problem im having is with stationary to moving birds.
I use back buttin focus with area focus and front button next to the lens for single point focus which i like and used for a while now...
I thought about the 50mm but on a dx would limit the focal distance, for example a snake on a branch with its head and tail hanging can only get enough focal distance with a 50mm compared to a 18-55,on the 18mm i can get him all in but not get enough light and thinking a 10-20mm would open up...
Been doing alot of zoo photography this last month and some days when the day is gloomy i go into the reptile house, i got a d7200 using only a 18-55 kit lens but cannot seem to get enough light some of the enclosures are dim lit and i dont let my iso go higher than 1600. I dont think a flash...
I got the tamron 70-200 f2.8 new g2 lens for a project i am doing at my local zoo.But a bit puzzled with the f stops.
I usually shoot wildlife with my nikon 200-500 and usually go for the widest aperture 4.5 -f8 depending on what light and speeds i need. But i thought zoos have dark enclosures...
I was thinking that the 70-200 f4 instead of the f2 stats seem better for things like sharpness etc but with the f2 getting that extra stop of light. I have the tamron 150-600mm but that also gives me problems when trying to photograph large animals like giraffes and elephants when the over fill...
Hi guys im getting a zoo pass for 12 months in the next few months a a project on bettering my photography skills to various animals. After recently doing a trip to Chester Zoo i taken the wrong lens with me , the nikon 200-500 which did take some decent images but alot of the time was too...
in the same price range the 200-500 seems the better lens but heavier since im always hand holding . Any recommendations for lenses as i know how important low f-stops and zoom/primes come into play. I know with my tamron i struggle with iso and have to bump it up at times in shaded areas.
I currently have a d7200 which i use every weekend for wildlife photography mainly birding with a tamron 150-600, which i am fairly happy with but have the chance to upgrade one item. But which one the new d500 was on the cards with its great auto focus advantage and other features like moved...

Newbie here to macro photography, i mainly shoot birds with my d7200 and 600mm lens, but my older body a d5200 was gathering dust so i decided to use that body for macro and bought the Tamron af 18-200 macro lens. Watching loads of you tube videos i was getting more hooked. Being a wildlife...
