I have firmware version 1.0.8 on my 60D. Is it advisable (or not) to update to the latest version?

I'm disappointed that redhead17 appears to be questioning my identity and my intentions in starting this thread. If I have misinterpreted his comments I do apologise.

He certainly provokes debate. I think I first heard of him on this forum.

When I started getting keen on photography I was convinced Ken Rockwell's take on equipment etc was the bee's knees. I have recently become a little sceptical as I find a lot of inconsistencies from one review to another. Any thoughts on this?

My sunset shots are always disappointing. I really like this one.

After 5 years I've sold my 400D (my first digital SLR) together with kit lens and the Sigma 70-300mm. For now I have held onto the Canon f1.8 50mm and the Sigma 17-70mm as they are my favourite lenses. The idea was to upgrade to a 600D but I'm now seriously considering changing to a Nikon D5100...

I can't find a section in the forum for silly questions, so I'll ask one here. Due to memory problems (mine) I cannot remember the term that refers to the settings used when taking a pic. Like Aperture priority, ISO 200, f8 at 1/200sec, white balance cloudy. Please don't laugh. :bang:
