    BTCC Thruxton

Thanks, I should have thought of that but I had my mind on getting out as soon as the flag dropped to avoid getting stuck in the car park. I was out in 10 mins, my friend was a little bit behind me and got stuck for an hour!

    BTCC Thruxton

I haven't posted in a long while and had a bit of a quiet year last year in terms of Motorsport. My first time at Thruxton with some fairly brutal light and couldn't stop down much for panning shots as I have a very mucky sensor, so with the excuses out of the way, here's the pictures :p 1...

CSCC at Snetterton - season opener

Sounds like you had some challenging conditions and still came away with some decent shots. I went to Snetterton last year to watch the HSCC and it's a great track for historic racing.

    first Model Shoot

Weight comments aside, she looks bored and that's your real problem. Although other people could be more tactful, they are right and just because she's a plus sized model doesn't mean you can't play to the model's strengths rather than highlighting the fact she's a plus sized model.

    Rockingham

All, Might go up to Rockingham to catch the BTCC this Sunday, will I be limited to just the stands on the outside and the terrace on top of the garages? I searched 'BTCC Rockingham' on Flickr and all it brings up is grid girl shots... Any guidance would be appreciated, I just want to know if...

    Canon EOS 70D Owners Thread.

I'm getting on really well with my 70D, I'm sure most AF 'issues' are slightly blown out of proportion. The 70-300 L got it's first bit of use a couple of weekends ago, great lens and blows my old Tamron into orbit. 100% at 300mm and f5.6 with a bit of heat haze to contend with: IS works...

Canon 5D MK I 'classic' - owners thread

I've got a 5D on it's way to me, looking forward to pairing it up with my 28 f1.8, 50 f1.4 and 85 f1.8. My 70D will stay for motorsport but this should be something fun to use with my primes.

    Motorsports - Camera Upgrade

It terms of static shots, pretty much zero difference in terms of image quality as I already had good lenses however when light drops off in the evening, going from getting unmanageable noise at ISO 400 to having well controlled noise at 1600-2000 makes a huge difference. In terms of...

Beginner Group photo 4-5 people how to keep everyone in focus?

I could do this type of picture at f1.8 on my Canon G16 so I don't think you'll run into any issues.

    Motorsports - Camera Upgrade

£50 a day from Fixation, it's not worth it really as it'll take some time to learn how to get the best out of it... I went from a 550D to a 70D and it was a worthwhile upgrade so I'm sure you'll get on fine.

    Motorsports - Camera Upgrade

7D will give you weather sealing and spot focus mode but you will have issues with noise and there seems to be a great variance between cameras. I have a 70D, AF is about 99% spot on, there's only a couple of occasions where the camera has fluffed (the rest of the time it's just me!). As your...

Help me eliminate jagged edges please (LR5)

I seem to be struggling with jagged edges on some shots, even with a tiny bit of sharpening and output sharpening turned off. Is it just down to the fact that it's a large image resized down? 100% crop Predictably with Flickr's OTT sharpening it looks a mess on there.. Ford Shelby...

Panning - what am I doing wrong??

It's not out of focus, well I can't really tell but it looks like you need to work on your panning technique and maybe start from 1/250 and work your way down. You could always focus on the bit of the track where the cars will be and switch to MF then you don't need to worry about the camera...

Mark 1 And 2 Fiesta`s At Silverstone Race Course

Looks like they were all taken from the stands, in my opinion you get better shots when you are on ground level with the car (see below). Your processing has left halos around the car too, looks a bit too 'HDR'. Lotus Cortina by Bryan Janes, on Flickr I think you'd be better off exploring the...
