I was having a something similar with my Macbook.I would connect to the internet for around 10 mins then it would just hang and the only way for me to get it to work again was to turn wifi off and back on.

If your thinking of going for a Macbook then just do it.I purchased one around 17 months ago and it is excellent.I don't use mine as very much due to having works laptop that i abuse.
The Macbooks are well built and will last you a long time.

I think it will be covered separately as you have to give serial numbers for the applecare,but i would give Apple a ring to confirm.

Did you purchase separate applecare for both products?
If so the applecare will be linked to the serial number of each item,so you will be fine selling them separate.
You can check on the apple website as to when warranty runs out.
What network did the previous owner have it on and was it on contract or PAYG?
