I did it and had a bad experience. The darkroom side of it was great and I learnt a lot in that respect, but I'd say nearly 75% of our course was written work and not really relevent. We had no guidance on any technical aspects, shutterspeed, aperture etc. The teachers didnt even care about...

Thats pretty obvious though? Companies don't bang on about low light performmance on their new models for nothing, it's a huge selling point.

I've got a laptop, but I do a lot of writing (and will be doing even more when I start Uni) so I have a full size keyboard aswell that I plug in when I'm in 'stationary' position, typing on the baby laptop keyboard does my head in!

Quite a few 285's popping on ebay at the moment (in the UK), just bought 2 for £45! They are the older manuel versions though, which is fine for off camera IMO.

350d + decent lens, the glass makes more difference then the body at this stage!

Funny how it varies from place to place, when I was in Canada I took a load of street stuff with a 20mm prime, no one seemed remotely bothered! Not sure I'd be quite so confident doing that in my own town though :lol:

I just find macs overpriced, I've have a windows laptop and desktop station that I had built to my specs (both far higher then the 'equivilent' mac's) and they still worked out a hell of a lot cheaper. People says windows always slows down and gets clogged up, how hard is it to run a decent...

I don't really care if they are / arn't HDR, they look blown out and overcooked regardless, just looks like someones had a dodgy go with the curves and got carried away! I like 2 out of the whole bunch.

Damn, if the hand was in focus it would be spot on, it really bugs me!
