    Monopod advice please

Just having a look through these monopod threads... My dilemma is do I buy a head, looking the Manfrotto 679. So at least I can buy one after if I need it. The use will be motorsport. Nikon D90, 75-300 the old school one! Found had to use very high shutter speeds just to stop camera shake at...

    We Need To Get Real

This thread reminded me of a comment my Dad made last night. I had copied pics from memory card to pc for him. "They should be good, I was standing right next the the photographer" (a wedding he attended last weekend) He then looked shocked to find the indoor shots were underexposed, blurred...

    D90 Owners Thread - Anything D90 related

Mine wasn't new, but had the peel off protector on it. Just deciding on lenses, currently using my 18-55 kit lens off my d40. But motor has broken so only m/f. Looking at a few Sigma 24-70 2.8 on ebay, also need a zoom 70-300 sigma/nikon at some point.

    D90 Owners Thread - Anything D90 related

Just got a D90 a few days ago, had a d40 before (in the sale section) Only really had a play with it so far, seems good. Functions I want are more at my fingertips than before. Has anyone tried the remote flash function? I've got it to work with my sb-600. Using the on board as the trigger...

Accrington Camera Club annual exhibition at Haworth Art Gallery

I used to live in Accrignton, walked around Oak hill park many times, nice place. I remember the art gallery too.

    Finally upgraded!

Oddly enough a 24-70 sigma 2.8 is in the for sale section. It's my mate's wedding in a few weeks, I'm invited to the reception, so good chance to test it out. (Assuming I've got a lens by then) IIRC the pro tog's are only there for the wedding itself, so I won't be getting in anyone's way.

    Finally upgraded!

Forgot about that! Never seen many others for sale, so didn't think of that range. Going to borrow my mate's 70-300mm to have a play, at least I can see what it's like in it' intended use.

"ooh, doesnt that camera take good photos"

I went to my mate's wedding a month or so ago. I've got my D40, which as you all know is a 5 year old entry level slr. I got comments like "you have a very impressive camera" "bet it takes good photos" after letting someone have a go "how do i put it on auto" I think the perception is that a...

    Finally upgraded!

After owning a D40 for the last four years, decided to upgrade. Got a D90, which I should get early next week. Need to decide what lenses to get (I've got a spare kit lens I can use, but only m/f) I'm thinking of the Sigma 28-70 2.8, or possibly the Tamron 17-50 2.8. Although I'm more often...

    Insuring against equipment faults

Hi I've currently got a D40 and kit lenses. My 18-55 motor has stopped working AGAIN! I bought a 2nd hand one off here, only used it a few times and motor has died. The original one stopped working after a few years use. I'm probably upgrading soon, most likely to d90 17-70 2.8 &...

Digital and the obsession with quality

I got an email from Nikon to do a survey, which I did. Lots of questions were asking about the MP count of your camera, was it enough? Is 25mp enough? I agree with KayJay, one if my best shots this year wasn't sharp, infact it was slightly blurred in places. But it added to the shot and...
