    Organising Lightroom

Thanks for the help :) I've now re-done it all so it is Event/Year/Date and when importing the photos i've had them renamed as YYYYMMDD-photo number and added keywords to them in LR so I can make smart collections. Much more organised now :)

    Organising Lightroom

Hi guys, I'm sure this has been done to death, but how do you organise your Lightroom and file structure? At the moment I just have folders in my photo folder, such as Photos/Pets or Photos/Maldives '09 etc. But I'd like to re-organise it so it's organised into sub-folders by date and place...

    Underwater Photos

Excellent, thanks for that! :) The titan was about two and a half feet long, he was pretty massive! He seemed fine with us around, didn't really take any notice. Quite scary to be around though knowing they can attack, so didn't get to near too him. The other half got bitten by a six-bar...

    Underwater Photos

Hey, I'd like to share some of my favourite photos I took underwater from my recent holiday to the Maldives. I'm surprised at how well they came out really! They were all taken with a Fuji F100fd in the Fuji WP-FXF100 housing. Parrotfish Batfish Loads of different fish, plus a Black Tip...

    Good Portrait Lens

The Canon EF 85mm f1.8 USM is regarded as a very good portrait lens, it's just within budget if you look around, but you will be able to get it cheaper second hand. Also I see you already have the nifty fifty, which is a good portrait lens!

    Aperture 2 or Adobe Lightroom?

I recommend watching these videos on the Adobe website to learn all the basics for Lightroom 2. It definitely helped me out :)

    Aperture 2 or Adobe Lightroom?

Down to your personal preference to be honest, download a trial and see what you like. I personally use Lightroom 2 on my Mac, prefer the integration with CS4.

Which develop tools do you use in Lightroom?

I almost always use the clarity slider, hue/saturation too and then the usual exposure, recovery, fill light and blacks.

    Photoshop guide

I used this book (CS3 version though) for when I started using CS3. If you want videos though, there's a lot on YouTube.

Do you sharpen when output from Lightroom?

I usually do use it, just on the standard setting, it does a very good job. The high setting does tend to over-sharpen though. Edit - Oh hi from OcUK Raymond!
