Nothing wrong with the 300mm f4 Jeff I loved mine but finally got round to selling it yesterday. It just wasn't getting the use any more since I got the big white one

Olympus Om-1
This sounds like a more down to earth review and an interesting take on the camera as a whole.
I think when it was announced I was hoping it would almost be the holy grail.
I suppose the engineer and...
I'm the same both systems have their uses
Canon for low light and cropability.
Olympus for traveling weight benefits and size in windy conditions.
2 systems one perfect answer to any photographic problem.
One Downside by the looks of it is 2 reviewers have questioned if the old batteries will work in the new body a right pain if you are running an em1x or mkiii alongside it in the field I hope they are wrong.
Other specs look pretty impressive though.
I shall be interested in the iso capabilities...
I have found the same Robin when I know I'm going to be pushing the iso I take the canon R5 and R6 with me as well I don't
think there ever will ever be a perfect camera lens combo but I do love the Em1x with 300mm f4 and the R5 and R6's with the 400mm f4 do mkii with tele convertors
Well I'm really enjoying the Canon R5 and using it with my 400mm f4 do mkii and the 1.4 and 2x extenders.
I use it in tandem with one of my Olympus Em1x's and the 300mm f4 pro.
The Oyster Catcher is with the EM1x
The SEO with the R5
I really enjoy both systems and both bring things to the table.
The oldest Canon 600mm f4 i.s lens Canon service. Is the current mkii version. I sold my mki version about 2 years ago when I found out they would no longer service the mki version.
Have you considered using an extension tube as well. A set of kenko ones are worth having very light weight and take up very little room in the bag or pocket.
Hi Robin
I tried Park, London camera exchange, Clifton cameras and Wex to no avail.
Clifton Camera's do Olympus kit days they had Rousey there just before lockdown.
You can also trial Olympus kit for a day before you buy.
I tried 3 foreign dealers as well to see if I could get one quicker that...
