First go at outdoor natural light portraits

No, shot with the Canon 75-300L... which I'm now realising doesn't have the nicest bokeh

First go at outdoor natural light portraits

I recently had a chance to try my hand at natural light outdoor portraits for the first time. Any feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Critique Ballintoy, County Antrim, Northern Ireland

The weather along the Northern Irish coast has been decidedly mixed this week, as was the case when I took this photograph. However, I was fortunate enough to witness a few moments of golden light which bathed one of my favourite stretches of coastline. Feedback welcome, Stephen

    Lake District & Yorkshire Dales

Thanks for the help guys. We did Tarn Hows and Langdale today, but I found it hard to get a good composition. I'm beginning to feel like to get good shots in the Lakes you need to be up high. Doing Buttermere and Derwent Water tomorrow. Any tips greatly appreciated!

    Lake District & Yorkshire Dales

I was wondering if anyone would have any recommendations for great views in either of these areas which are easily accessible? Thanks, Stephen

    Printing woes

Thanks for the help everyone. It turns out that 5 of the nozzles are blocked. I have run the deep cleansing on the printer 5 times now and still no luck. I have also tried cleaning the print head in warm water (as a last resort), but still nothing. A new print head is about £100 and the inks...

Thanks Gerry. Do you mean disable colour management in printer settings? I'm not sure there is that option.

I should add that anytime I send prints to a website like DS ColourLab they are a fairly close match to what I have on screen.

Whiterocks Beach, County Antrim, Northern Ireland

I have often captured photographs at dusk on this beautiful beach, but felt particularly lucky to capture these gorgeous pinks. Feedback welcome.

    Misty At The Top.

Lovely colours, but the composition feels a little flat to me. You can't see anything that lies between the little waterfall and the mountain which makes it feel a bit disjointed.

Critique First light - Loch Awe. NEW IMAGE added

Where is this? The light and composition are beautiful.

"That Morning Glow" - Whiterocks Beach, County Antrim, Northern Ireland Canon 6D, Canon 16-35mm L @ 16mm, 0.5s @ f22, ISO 200 When photographing a sunrise, it is often easy to predict just how spectacular or otherwise it will be somewhat in advance of the main event. However, sunrise is...

    Coming & Going in Whitby

I like that a lot more! Even seeing the front of the boat rather than the rear helps to simplify things.

    Godrevy Sunset

Nice layers in the composition and I like the light hitting the rocks. I think the right side of the image doesn't have much to offer. Would you consider a square crop with the lighthouse at the horizontal mid-point to make things a bit more balanced?
