    Stacking Filters

So I simply buy a hoya circular polarizer and screw them together? Sorry, wasn't very specific, was meaning to ask more about the mechanics of it. My ND400 doesn't seem to have a filter on the front?

    Stacking Filters

Hi, I've recently just bought a Hoya 52mm ND 400, which is great and does the job perfectly, but I was thinking about pairing it with a circular polarizer as well to reduce the reflections in long exposure water shots... but... can you stack them? I hear about stacking filters, but I'm...

    Sheep pen

I love it! Sheepy Chaos! :) I think it would add a bit more emphasis of the chaos if you cropped the pen itself out at the top, it would highlight quite how cramped they are in there. Possibly do with being a bit lighter too?

    Face to Face

Actually, I think this version is a bit sharper, took two separate exposures

    Face to Face

Thanks for taking the time to comment! I sort of see what you mean, in that it's not *all* in sharp focus, but the front petals are definitely in focus (sadly not the reflection). Larger version here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mrjaba/6825562095/lightbox/ I think the problem is that I'm still...

    Face to Face

Just took this this evening, attempting to see how much of a reflection I could get in the water. Hope you like it!

    Long Exposure Seascape

Thanks for your honest critique, I definitely understand about the negative space, there is a lot of it. I couldn't find much in the way of foreground or background interest at the time, but it was fun trying out the technique anyway. I hav this other image with a lower pier With...

    Long Exposure Seascape

Haha yeah I couldn't believe the gull sat there for the whole 60 seconds! I only noticed it in PP :) I was playing with exposure length, they varied from 30s to 1 min 30 under the pier. Aperture was f/22. I was just using my 35mm nikkor prime as I don't have a proper landscape lens yet.

    Long Exposure Seascape

Thanks very much guys! Josh, I'd thoroughly recommend trying it, it was great fun to try something totally new, and the Hoya filter did a damn good job and isn't *too* expensive. Paul, it's just down the road from me in Felixstowe. I've only been a couple of times, need to see if there are...

    Long Exposure Seascape

So I thought I'd give this long daytime exposure a go and bought a Hoya ND400, this is what I came up with. Hope you like them

    New Beginnings

Thanks Geof, I'll try the crop tonight when I get home, I think you're right though getting rid of the white would help it no end.

    New Beginnings

Thank you! I still feel like it's missing... something, like a lot of my shots, but I quite like it anyway. I think the 366 will be a struggle, especially with the dark evenings forcing a lot of desperate rummages in the house to find an interesting macro shot!

    New Beginnings

This is another one from my 365(366) project that I thought I'd share, as I'm quite pleased with it.. most of the others are a bit rubbish! A picture a day is hard work. We're trying to clear our garden at the moment, and had some old wood sat on top of this section of grass.. everything...

    Left Home

I see what you mean about the tones, any suggestions on how I could change it to be better?
