New Tamron 10-24mm - is this soft to you?

Those later shots seem much better to me. Although they are smaller. There does seem to be lots of pixel peeping on here, however, there are times when it can be constructive. From my experience with my canon 17-40 (as I mentioned earlier in this thread) focusing too far in the distance...

New Tamron 10-24mm - is this soft to you?

It rather depends on your final usage for image quality to be honest. If you are happy with it, then that is all that matters. If you're going to be doing some top end assignments with it, then perhaps it would be a little soft. I would like to see an image where you have focused a little...

How do I bring out the ooomph?

I have done an edit, which looks better. Darkened background, lighten face, warmed up face, saturation on pink clothing, contrast boost (using red channel for masks) in curves.

    Training as a VALS

The 4th and final shot is very dramatic. If you could knock out shots like that every time, you'd have yourself a little niche. Sadly, the weather and cloud formation don't alway play ball. With the other shots, they are well taken, the models expression just doesn't do it. I appreciate this...

    Bass Guitar

Great shots of the pickups. Nice to see flatwound strings being used.

    My Daughter - Nifty Fifty

Great shots. All I would mention is that when you are shooting with lots of white in the picture, use the exposure compensation button, else your whites will be under exposed. "bright to the right" is how I remember which way to go.

Recently Washed, polished and waxed car

Interesting. No swirls. Would be nice to see the whole car as well. Have you checked out detailingworld.co.uk. Some obsessed people on there

    Album Cover Shots

Good shots. I'm not sure if the artist is too dark in the first shot. The guitar looks a little blown which distracts me a little. The second shot is really good. Nice setting. I'm guessing his music isn't all about happy stuff. Will these be square format, how well or where will you crop them...

    Spotted a togger : Part 2

He had the budget for the camera, then no budget left for any glass. Dust bunnies galore!

    Sunrise

I actually clicked on this post expecting it to be a sunrise shot from a back garden and nothing more than a nice looking sky. I really like this shot. The mist is great as well. How early did you get up for this. Was worth it I think.

    My first wedding ;)

Actually, there are criticisms to make with this picture, there were more better pictures taken on the day. I understand you would have been quite some distance from the couple, perhaps with many other people pushing in to you to get their photo as well. I think you have done well.
