I am looking for a compact (or small bridge) camera for talking pics of coins and similar sized items for recording and posting on line. It probably doesn't count as true macro, but I need something that will enable me to reasonable fill the shot with say a 5p sized subject..

(y) My main passion is metal detecting, and I use that site quite a bit for research, although I tend use the side by side mapping function..its an excellent site with a lot of maps...even the more recent OS maps of your area from say the the 50s and 60s can be very enlightening...
Best bet is try to get out regardless of whether it's for photography or not...maybe get out your OS map and explore all the nooks and crannies of your local area and see what's there...I think we have all driven past public footpath signs but never stopped to walk them...Now is the time to do...
Just had an email re game shooting...apparently driven shooting will not be permitted, but rough shooting and pest control can continue as long as people follow the corvid guide line..if that's the case, it's hard to see how photography could not continue...No mention of the travel aspect though....
Thanks for that..although I have been dipping my toe in and out of photography for years, I consider myself very much a beginner, and it's the software and post processing side of things that's really alien to me...

I think many people are asking this about their favourite hobby/ pass time / interest....Mine is metal detecting and even within the community, there is a broad range of what people see as acceptable even though it's been given the ok (with restrictions) by the Gov dept concerned...
