I have used it last year. It is a good and heavy head built well and should last. Since then changed to RRS head and carbon fibre tripod due to weight issues..;)
I have recently bought CT-3342 Rapid version and use it with RRS Ballhead. Very light and strong setup for my D3 and primes, highly recommend it for the price...
Not cheap but excellent value for money... compared to gitzo 1 series.
Traveller Tripods - CT-3441SB - Traveller
I use their Tournament CT-3342 Tripod with RRS BH-30 head, very light combination for travel and hiking...

Have just bought a Feisol CT3342 and a RRS ball head, very light set up. Will be using this overseas in December and I recommend feisol tripods to anyone who wants to save a little over gitso but almost same permanence...;)
Was going to order Q3 head and pleasantly price is down to 255 Euros compared to 283 yesterday...;)

I own 25mm and 35mm Zeiss lenses. They are different to Nikon primes if not better.
Have tried a 21mm and its in a different league if you can afford. I didn't like the focal length and am happy with other wides I have.
Just visit FM forums (search) and there are many threads on 21mm...:D
Has any one heard about this model: Giottos MT 8223-50 Carbon Fibre Tripod.
I can't find in their website and this one is on ..bay and not sure about it's details.
I was actually looking into MT 8240B for travel as my Redsnapper is not that light to go on a two week trip...
Cheers.;)
