Hi all, How sturdy is the Modo Maxi tripod.. I've heard conflicting reports about it. How would it fare supporting a D40 and a 70-300 lens? Is it worth spending a bit more money and if so what should I be considering? Thanks.

Just a quick question.. AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Does this lens have an SWM - will it autofocus on a D40? I've tried googling, and it appears that only the Nikon fit has an in-built motor, but the canon fit etc don't? Could someone clear up my confusion please!

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I had thought about the 70-300 for a while before I turned my attention to the 18-200. I do like the idea of the extra reach, but I've heard it said on here that beyond 200mm, it's quite soft. :shrug:

Yes it does. If you keep cranking the shutter speed up, at the end of the scale is the bulb setting. Push the shutter release to open the shutter and let go to close it.. can be done with the infra red remote too I think.
