i am afraid i was a little too close to the building when i took the shot, the picture is the whole image with no room to straighten without losing the top completely :/ the light is a street light, i could have removed that in post although i kinda liked the effect but thank you for the...
I was out with the camera club tonight at leeds docks when we were told about the new john lewis store which had opened just this week so we couldn't help ourselves and went to check it out this was the result:

i think by the very fact that you get filters your photography will improve purely because you spend more time "setting up" to get the shot and then you spend less time in photoshop making the pictures look better if that makes sense
Yesterday i was taking part in the sheffield photo marathon using briefs to create 6 photos in a specific order, one of those was "making faces" we could interpret as we saw fit so in my mind i needed someone to pull me a face but i was solo :/ i had to go outside of my comfort zone and ask a...
no hemsworth were away on saturday and i had another engagement at sheffield but next week they should be back home again, your right they are very accommodating at hemsworth and really nice people the only shame is my gear is no good when it starts getting dark so when the clocks go back ill...
hey thanks all for the replies!
yes i could se it, it was faint but definitely there, i have shots from earlier at 4k iso but too many clouds in the way to see anything i guess ill just chalk this up to experience and next time stay lower on the ISO and go further afield for the darker clearer...
I'm not sure what the problem is, i have seen a video on lonely speck where he's in a really bad light polluted spot and he gets way better results than i did tonight. I guess my main gripe is that it just doesn't look anything like other milky way shots I've seen i.e no colours or definition...
hi,
i bought myself a sayang 14mm 2.8 some time ago and haven't really had the chance to get out and use it until tonight, fortunately no moon tonight but clouds rolling by i spotted a clear spell and ran to the darkest spot locally to me (middle of a field) i had already pre focused on...
Hi Richietee, whilst i did reduce the highlights to compensate for the sun i didn't too much PP on this at all but i have found the problem is i have exported it at less than 100k file size and exporting at full file size there isn't any banding in the sky
never even noticed the banding - good catch! , not sure how that has been introduced just looked at the file in lightroom and its not there at all :/ Also not sure how i might remove the flare do you mean content aware or clone it out its rather a large area to get rid of?
Thanks for the tips...
