    Continuous Lighting Options

Good call. They have this: http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk/eng/product/bowens_streamlite_330_lamp_unit/bw3450uk But this looks like better value: http://www.lencarta.com/lighting-store/product-shot-solutions/product-shot-solutions-1/cool-light-5lite-softbox-light-518

    Continuous Lighting Options

It's been a while since I've been on here, but did Lencarta not do continuous lighting solutions that were reasonable?

    Continuous Lighting Options

Okay, so I'm a total novice to studio work, and have been using halogen 'site lights' for the past year for doing talking head white background videos for products. I've had some dodgy outcomes, but with trial and error and a lot of in camera adjustments, I usually get something that's okay...

    Lightroom catalogue on two machines

Thanks. Any particular reason why it's not recommended?

    Lightroom catalogue on two machines

I'm just wondering if there's a tutorial on this somewhere, or if someone can give some guidance. I have two Apple machines, and iMac and a recently acquired Air. At present, all my images are on the iMac with a backup to an external HD. Is it possible access my images and make edits...

    Software and books dilemma...

Cheers for replying :D I ended up getting LR3 for a very good price. So I then went and bought Kelby on LR3. Both arrived today funny enough. Haven't looked at either yet, though.

1 camera, 1 lens, £1000 - What would you get?

If you can get close to the horses, how about a lightly used 50d/600d and a used 24-105mm?

    Issues with 60D and Flashgun

To the OP, Like you, I didn't want to spend £200 on a flash. However, I also didn't want to 'buy cheap, buy twice' which I thought was potentially what would happen with a third party flash. So, I got a used 430ex mk1 for £100 from MPB. Highly recommended!

    Which laptop

I don't think LR is very GPU intensive, so don't worry too much about a gaming graphics card, or the like. Bilko is right, focus on RAM and CPU. However, I'd add that a decent operating system helps to keep your machine running better. That's why, if it was me, I'd be looking at used Macs...

    Software and books dilemma...

Well, perhaps not quite a dilemma. Perhaps 'quandary' would be a better word. I'm about to get either Aperture or Lightroom. I'm leaning towards Aperture. I'm not sure why, because I can get LR quite cheap as a student. I'd like to get more into PP. I've worked with Photoshop for a...

HELP - Canon 24-105 Back Focus

All this testing gets me worried. How on earth is the average Joe meant to know if he's got a dud lens/body? He'll just think the camera/lens is poop and sell it, or he'll think it's his technique, or not notice at all. That image of the canyon has some serious vignetting from what I can see...

Looking to add a blog to my website

I'd need to know what you're trying to do achieve to really help, but it's highly likely that I'm going to suggest you create the whole website from WordPress. WP is more than a blogging platform. It's a CMS, which can be used for the vast majority of needs. Assuming your main site is a...

    Iphone v pro camera artical

This is precisely what I was thinking. I'm surprised others haven't mentioned it. It's a sales pitch, using an expensive dslr to justify the price of an iPhone. If they had used a 60D, people might have thought they'd really need to save their cash to get a 5D. Instead, doing a rigged...

    Flash or tripod?

To the OP, If you shoot people mostly, get a flash first. In which case, save another £30 and get a 430ex mk1. I don't think spending a little extra here will be wasted. Non-Canon flashes may frustrate you, and you'll likely pine for one very soon. As for a tripod, I bought my Slik Pro 340DX...
