+ 1 for Tamron, I had the 17-50 and now have the 28-75 and they're both great.

Take a look at the Tamron 17-50 or 28-75 f2.8 both have great optical performance, constant f2.8 aperture and all at a very very good price especially if you pick up a good used one.

I haven't tried the Sigma but I own the Tamron 17-50. Both are generally regarded as very good and from my experience I can really recommend the Tamron which stays on my camera 80% of the time. If you look at completed ebay sales the Sigma seems to sell for a little less than the Tamron. Both...

Unfortunately I missed the Wilkinson 7D + Free 580EX deal and cheapest I can find now is OneStopDigital at £1029 for body only. Does anyone know any better deals out there? I don't mind buying a kit and selling the lens etc - just want to get the best price for the body. Don't mind buying...

I really like this example of before and after taken from the tutorial above on dpreview (the tutorial also shows the intermediate steps) really shows what can be done with what starts off as a plain looking photo.

Yes I've used my Tamron 17-50 with a Kenko 1.4x Pro with mine and it's a great combo. The Tamron is an incredible lens IMHO - stays on my camera 80 to 90% of the time!
