I wrote a blog post for my website a few months back as it has been online a decade now and as part of this, I trawled through the mountain of photographs I have collected and picked out some from my favourite explores. You can read the blog post here: http://thetimechamber.co.uk/beta/blog/nostalgia-ten-years-on-the-wrong-side-of-the-fence if you fancy!
I have to admit, exploring is the reason why I continue to take photographs as a hobby. I have learnt the craft whilst hiding in decrepit buildings and thoroughly enjoying doing so; I progressed from a Fujifilm Finepix point and shot, a Fujifilm S5600, a Nikon D40, D7100 and finally a D750. Each time I have bought a new camera, I have thought i'd try my hand at another type of photography, but nothing quite matches up to feeling of creeping into a building before sunrise for a photograph. I do take some photos for hoots and chortles, but it isn't my mainstay! I want to continue to talk about the interplay of the light, the peeled paint, the emptiness and the dereliction and how it draws me back again and again; but I don't have the descriptive language skills to put what I want into words, so here are some photos:
I'll try not to post too many
