Not certain if I'm posting in the correct section, if not can a mod please move, but if anybody has experience of visiting the above I'd appreciate any advice or thoughts regarding taking cameras in .

Cameras are no problem, they have holes cut in the mesh fences to poke your lens though alternatively you can photograph close up to the mesh as it's got pretty big holes in it anyway
 
Thanks for that Kevin, we're going in a few weeks' time and it looks as if you need to be careful with anything loose or dangly in case one of the wolves fancies a play! Cheers,

yes, that's correct, also don't leave any camera bags or anything too close to the fence else they'll get peed upon!

You should enjoy it though, I got some nice photos when I went
 
definitely dont wear anything loose, if a wolf gets hold of it they cannot and will not even attempt to get it back, as it messes up the pack structure and trust of the wolves with the keepers. Keep cameras out of reach too, the same rules apply ! Not a problem if they are in the cages, but if you are going on a walk it becomes an issue ! If one of the wolves turns its back end to the fence, MOVE, or you will smell of Wolf pee for ages lol so will your gear, it goes approximately 4 or 5 feet as well, so move quite a way ;)

You will love it, i havent been in the last 12 months but im a member there, sometimes the enclosures can be a bit of a pain to photograph in, but they do their best to put meat etc in places where the fence isnt an issue.

Highly recommended. We had a day there with our camera club and the wolves acted up very nicely :lol:

The people who run it are all volunteers and their knowledge and enthusiasm really comes across.

i'm going there on the 18th june with my mum , will post up some pics and let you know what it was like
 
I know this is bring a thread back from a year ago but what length lens is recommended for these days? I've just been given a photography day here and want to make sure I've got the right kit to make the most of it.
