Hi,

I have been asked to photograph a mates wedding and because I have never done it before or know how it works I thought I would come on here asking for help. I have done a bit of fashion/outdoor photography but never done a wedding so just asking on here if anybody is willing to show me the ropes.

So if anybody needs an Second Shooter (free charge), let me know.
You can view some of my work here to see the standard of my previous work.

I would be bringing my own equipment (Sony A77, external flash etc) and would like to use any photos I take on my website. (Thought I would be honest and upfront from the beginning)

Thanks

Gary

I can see the steam coming out of the wedding togs ears on here as we speak lol

To be fair not really - lots of them (us) take new people second shooting or assisting , some even pay them.

What P's wedding togs off is people who don't go this route first but think they are ready to advertise themselves as a pro before they've ever done a live wedding.

As the OP isnt doing that theres no reason for any wedding shooter to get irate- although I'm fairly sure we'll see the usual trolls out in force with their big wooden spoon trying to stir the pot

Gslick - where in the uk are you ?, where are you wiling to travel to ?, and what previous experience ofweddings etc have you got ? , and are you willing to assist (carry bags, set up grups, round up guests, hold flash etc) in order to geta feeling for what goes on, or are you only looking for second shooter 'work' ?

:suspect: Indeed. This thread is flagged in the staff room. Any sign of "the usual" will be stamped on hard ;)

Welcome to TP Gary. Wedding photography is an emotive subject round here, hence my post above. Hopefully you'll get some positive and constructive advice. Looking at your FB, you certainly know how to take a good photo. Please feel free to share some on here in the feedback and critique forums :)

as long as your not setting up on my door step, and willing to help out im based in South Wales. I learnt by doing exactly what you are trying to do, and IMO its one of the best ways. Good on you for being open and honest.
