Hi!

I am getting bored to death of Flcikr, as a tool for getting better and getting good inspiration it is not great. Went on to 500px today and got an awesome account straight away :)

*edit* as for embedding photos onto the forums here, there does not seem to be an option. Am I looking in the right place?

There isn't one on the site, but it works with the same format as normal image links do. so

I got this too today trying to upload my daily image and sort out a blog for an associated charity. Any ideas how to fix this/ I signed up to Awesome recently and really liked it before it started refusing to allow me access! I'm http://500px.com/TimHoy

They have problems like this here and there, the site is becoming so much more popular it's to be expected, should be ok soon
 
Love the layout of that site. Might have to sign up you know :) Do they have groups etc like flickr? I use to have a flckr paid membership but in the end got bored of it.
 
Impressed with the portfolio so far, although I would like some control over the CSS used. The addition of purchases from the portfolio cannot happen soon enough IMO.

Hmmmm interesting, I've seen lots of people comment on the quality of the images on the site, and I agree. But what's going to keep the quality high, and stop it turning into a flickr type back slapping love fest?

Had 2 positive comments within an hour which is 2 more than I've had from flickr!

Will probably switch on purchasing at some point if you can restrict the print sizes to certain ones the same ratio of the original image. Obviously you don't want to sell sizes which will be cropped.

Says it all out of 4000+ photos I can only find a dozen or so that are reasonably fit to go on there. Must try harder!

I still can't seem to 'like' any images without having a link to a social network site. I had a reply when I asked saying it was for security reasons, but I think uploading an avatar image is beyond any spammer and their automated software, but there you go. They said they would try and sort it out but I haven't heard anything back.

There are many images that I would like to like, but I can't. :shrug:

I have been on their for a couple of months now and am seriously disappointed in the quality of the feedback most of which is one word,"Excellent,Gorgeous Brilliant etc".I have seen much more constructive critisism on Flickr
 
Just set up an account.... But then i looked through the photos. I don't think i will be uploading any photos to it.
