Doesnt bode well for the medium / long term robustness of these things.
I think it will be fine, Apple don't have a great history with their first generation products but I have no doubt they'll get it right.
I must admit, I am surprised with the iPhone Duo though, Apple have had 8 years sitting back watching Samsung perfect a lot of the technology so I didn't expect to see so many of these screen issues from Apple.
I had a Pixel 10 Fold briefly, and I actually really enjoyed using it, it was great when I am working away, sitting in a restaurant on my own, open the phone and you've got a large screen to watch content on, and it didn't feel any heavier or bulkier in my pocket.
The reason I got rid of it was two fold (pun intended

) while I was in London a very kind chap on an electric bike tried to grab it from me, luckily I sensed what was about to happen and tightened my grip and pulled back, result being he got called a 'f****n w****r' and my phone dropped to the floor, chipping it in several places, and secondly the camera, it seems any foldable device compromises in this department and they never have a camera that matches a non-foldable phone, I sold it and bought the Xaomi 17 Ultra and the camera / video quality on it is insanely good, my wife and I frequently compare the video / stills I take against her iPhone Pro and the Xaomi almost always out performs it.
I'll be watching the progress of the Duo over the next couple of years as I think my wife may like one at some point.
