Poppies seems to be a popular theme at the moment, so I did some research and found a field not too far from me (Watchfield, West Oxfordshire). I couldn't get a decent composition for a wide pano shot, so I optied to get down low and shoot a solo (taller) poppy, backlit by the setting sun. I'm pretty happy with it, but would certainly welcome any CC from fellow TP members. Thanks in advance!

As I said on Flickr - great backlighting which has been very well controlled.

The details (like the stem hairs), and the control of light & colour is fabulous.
 
Thanks guys! Hand-held, 1,000th second at F/2.8 to get the depth of field and exposure right against the rapidly changing natural lighting conditions.
 
Great work. Nice variation of the normal field of Poppies view.
 
That really is a wonderful image- superb use of shallow depth of field, and perfectly exposed & focussed.
 
Quite a unusable capture which has worked very well,the tall poppy has added height which has taken centre stage as it were.
Overall the background has completed a moody look to complement the finish.
