I am looking for a bag to hold a gripped 5dII or 50D with at most a 24-70 attached and maybe a flash or 2nd lens (prime)

Shoulder bag, if possible discreet like the crumplers. Dont really need a lot of space, something to take with me like when visiting family or just carrying around when walking if i see a shot i have it to hand.

not really looking at spending more than £40

Actually, finding a bag isn't as easy as you'd think, which I'd assume is the reason behind the OP asking.

There are a lot of bags that LOOK like they'll be fine, but when you receive them you find they weren't as suitable as the images and 'reviews' suggested, as half the time the reviews generally aren't unbiased online or in a magazine.

I watch threads like this with interest as it's very difficult to find a good bag, and to be honest for what the OP is asking for I'd be amazed if you'd find one for under £40! Someone mentioned something similar on here in the last day or so that was around £80ish.

Sorry I can't help as I'm in the same boat myself, and only have a bag for all my kit. The prices around at the moment don't help me make the decision either!
 
I second a Crumpler - I have the 7500 and it should easily fit in your requirements.

The max I've had in mine was a 5D2 with 24-70 attached, a 300/4 lying along the top and a 50/1.4. There was still a bit of room at the bottom. I've had to be a little more imaginative with the dividers when I do this though, using them horizontally and in effect cutting the bag in two rather than creating nice little pockets.
 
Didn't think of eBay. I never discounted the crumpler range. Will look at the 7500 muffin top.
 
I'm going for the Lowepro Exchange Messenger which is a great bag! it's like a messenger bag but with padded inserts and also it "sags" compared to typical shoulder bags which plump out and feel like an extra body part which is awkward when manouvering around a city.

The Lowepro bag sort of conforms to your body shape and to me it feels like a normal bag and it looks like it too :)

Wonder if it will fit a gripped body in some fashion?

Yup I do but there in store stock is pants. There is an Independant near by that does a massive range. Shouldn't be a problem.
