I would say its a bit early yet Roger.
Since moving into the 21st century and getting one of Lynn's cast off android phones , I'm on the Flamborough Orbs watsapp thread so get alerts.
There's been some big flocks of both Gannets and Auks reported but only seen out at sea as yet
Sounds like a planI agree with Phil-D, bit early yet, I would leave it another month perhaps. I keep looking at the RSPB "recent sightings" section and a few days ago they counted 300+ on the cliffs. I usually make my first visit early to mid April to view the gannet action.
Thanks KevHi Roger I went last Sunday only a few are building nests a few pairs are getting to know each other again also theirs a razorbills and gilimots
Ah, thanks Phil, I'm wanting to pop up for a few days again this year but it's a bit too soon for me yet so that all sounds good.
Would like that Ian, last year I met up with Phil-D and that was good to do.Give a shout when you go gramps, I'll have a ride up and have a couple of hours with you, would be good to meet you, and any other members, if that's ok with you that is

i might pop over there in a few hours and have a look its only a 20 min drive for me
No snow over there then Peter? We're going nowhere here, no snow in fields, its all on the roads as 4ft drifts :banghead:
I'll keep an eye on this thread If you don't mind gents, I need an early trip up there this year.
That's if Phil-D doesnt scare all the birds away!
Mike

Will be interested in hearing what's about on the cliffs Mike, although I probably won't travel up until the end of May.I'm thinking of heading up to bempton Monday afternoon and evening if anyone is around.
Any ideas for other close by locations gratefully accepted as well!
Mike
If you have a look on the rspb site they update the viewings board every few days on the blog page. Hoping to see a couple of gannets if I'm lucky [emoji14] .Will be interested in hearing what's about on the cliffs Mike, although I probably won't travel up until the end of May.

I went today Roger, and it was very slow. All the usual suspects were there but all down low. Nothing bar gulls and jackdaws came up to eye level. Will be interested in hearing what's about on the cliffs Mike, although I probably won't travel up until the end of May.
