Best Memory card for Nikon D4s to take on Safari

What would you recommend as the Best Memory card for Nikon D4s to take on Safari.............64GB 128GB Sony Lexar ?????????????
Right now I have a 32 GB Sony XQD and a Sandisk 32 GB CF
 
Not convinced of the best but I'd rather have more slower cards than fewer faster...

I like my Lexars but nothing wrong with the Sandisks.

Assuming a 10 day holiday I'd want at least a card a day - but I take more shots than I need too - lol
 
Right now I only have 3 CF cards 2 x 16GB and one x 32GB and 1 XQD 32 GB card that I share between my D4s and D800. Maybe I should get a couple more 32 GB CF cards and 1 more XQD card also 32GB.............what do you think???

At this point, I have three cameras with different pixel counts. Since I have the
habit of uploading and back up all new shoots, and to be on the safer side, 4x
16GB, 4x 32GB, and 4x 64GB.
If, like you, I was planning a safari, I would consider x number of 16~32GB and
since the file size of the D4 is well under 20MB, that would be plenty!

What are you doing about your images once they are on the cards?
 
With that as your backup then 4 or 5 cards will be fine.. It's more down to how much you plan on using the D800.... My 'worst day' (lol) at an air show I took 8400 pics and came to 640 Gb. It was a good day however.....:nikon:
 
Have been using both Sandisk and Lexar for years now, without any issues so I don't imagine you having any problems with either I always tend to use 4gig In the D3 but recently been using 16 gig UDMA 5 :)
I have a pair of 64gig for my D810 the cf being Lexar UDMA 7 once again and no issues.
Only cards I can't use in my D810 are the Kingston 32gig 600x that work perfect in my friends D800 :(

I just bought a 32 GB Sony XQD card from B&H and had them add it to all the other stuff I ordered yesterday. I can buy the CF cards in Malaysia the same price or maybe even cheaper than they are in the US
 
If it's security that's important, I would use a new card each time, copy images to hard-drive, but not delete them. A good brand, medium speed, memory is cheap. Format each card in camera, and test before leaving. You then have two master copies. Apart from card failures etc, it's important to guard against theft, lost luggage, dropping the hard-drive and so on.

32GB is usually best value per GB, but if you're hammering the D800 maybe bigger would be better. People say don't put your eggs in one basket, but using two smaller cards instead of one bigger one is false security - you've just doubled the chance of card failure. And also bear in mind that it's actually quite rare to lose images - even if you accidentally delete them, or reformat the card, or the card controller goes down etc, the images are still there 100% intact and recoverable. Flash memory is very robust. Recuva is good, and free https://www.piriform.com/recuva
