Hope that's okay....?

It's a street photography project (kind of, but I get permission)
I hope to run this for a full year, but have to say, some days are harder than others in terms of getting the courage to approach a good face!

Happy for any views, but please be reasonably gentle with me...

www.onefaceforeveryday.co.uk

It's been great practise actually, at learning to get ok shots quickly - having to really think about framing. I can't have them standing around for half an hour taking 80 shots in the hope 2 or 3 will be okay. The most I take is 2 or 3, sometimes only a chance to take 1.

Fantastic project Maxine, really interesting. I had a look at each of the shots and the older ones... and have bookmarked the site so I will be checking in regularly.

Great idea, well executed and I wish you all the very best with it.

Maxine...I have had a look at the website. What a fascinating and interesting idea!

Maxine, of course it's okay, especially with a project like this.

It's a fantastic and ambitious project, and I really enjoyed flicking through. Have bookmarked it so I can read it properly when I have more time.

thanks so much for those replies! It is really encouraging (and motivating too!)

Some strong images. It's nice to be able to read a bit about the people you have taken as well.

Most of all I admire your courage, don't think I'd be able to go up to a complete stranger and ask to take their picture.

It's an interesting project. Like others I've bookmarked it, for future visits.

Fantastic. Wish I had the time, inclination and most importantly balls to do this sort of thing.

Wow, that is superb, you obviously know how to take a good shot, and I love the little write up for each!! Good for you, it's great

This is fantastic, unlike normal street photography the personal touch of actually asking them about there life is great and very interesting.

I'll be sure to bookmark this.

Wow, thankyou so much for these replies - it has really given me a lift!!

this seems like a great forum, reading through the other threads - really useful stuff and great feedback

thanks again

It's such a simple but very thoughful project. I love it and also read through it all. I'll be following you through the year and if you don't mind I'll be taking some inpiration from you.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Moving to talk photography. Sharing section is for directly posted pictures.

Love it! Have bookmarked it and look forward to seeing more - great idea.

I'm seriously impressed!

I take pictures of Aircraft, it is easy, I pick where I'm going to stand, they come to me, i take a pic, some come out well enough for me to be happy, some are that bad they are instantly scrapped (must learn to pan properly), but it means I stay within my comfort zone, so to see what you are doing for your project, certainly earns my respect, I couldn't do it.

Very very good. Added to my favourites. I'll be watching this one!

thanks again everyone!!!

I heard that on radio Norfolk today they were talking about bloggers in Norfolk. I figured it would be worth a quick call, to see if they wanted to mention this project.

They were VERY enthusiastic and a lady called me back to ask if I could talk about it on the breakfast show tomorrow. They are sending Wally Webb (! A Norfolk Icon) round in a radio car to my humble bungalow to interview me.

Sort of cra**ing myself now.....and tidying up the bloody mess. I know it's radio but even so.

So, if anyone wanted to listen to me humiliate myself, I think you can listen to Radio Norfolk online ? and it should be sometime between 9.30 to 10.15..ish?

eek!

Congratulations. Infamy at last :)

Straight into my faves too - love the idea and the pictures and writeups are fantastic :)

Good luck with the interview too :)

great idea..
just read all previous posts.

added to rss feed's so i can see the daily updates :)

You might want to rephrase that, or at least make a doctors appointment

 Yes, this is true!

thanks again everyone!

Well, the radio interview was a completely surreal experience, radio car with huge ariel appearing outside my little bungalow. Wally Webb hopping about doing techy things and telling me 'we're on in ten minutes' - he thrust a list of questions he was about to ask me (30 seconds notice then I guess!) and....then he asked completely different ones:shrug:. After the interview he sat on my sofa for a further 15 mins chatting about his blog/life/work. Bless him, he was quite sweet really

If anyone is bored enough to listen it's on here
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p002tl8z/Breakfast_with_Bumfrey_24_04_2009/

But not on until 3 hrs and 8 mins in - so you'll need to forward quite a bit!

If anyone felt extraordinarily generous, might they want to sign the 'visitor book' section of my blog? (link on right side)

It's lovely to get the positive comments anywhere, but as I'm trying to promote the blog (would love to raise funds to do exhibition of it at the end), I want to persuade anybody that I ask for help from that it is popular!
Hardly anyone ever leaves comments on the posts themselves and someone told me it felt odd to leave feedback about the project in general under a single picture, so have made a general visitor book page:). But looks a bit sad till it gets filled up a bit!:lol:

Realise I'm new here and all that, so feel a bit cheeky asking, but I plan on sticking around!!

Great Project, hope you keep it up. Congrats.

Also added to RSS.

This is great - just had a look through all the shots so far and it's really interesting to have a snippit of someones story to go with their image. I'm not really into street photography but this I can really appreciate.

Excellent project - I'll be checking back often

Thank you, and thanks for leaving a comment in the book. Appreciate it!

Superb! I might do something similar for next years 365 :)

Just noticed while peeking at your work that you've already begun it.
Must confess to feeling rather protective of my project, but I guess I don't really own the idea:(
Just hope it won't be TOO similar....not being rude...but I'm sure you know what I mean
Good luck in any case:)

Edited to add, really don't want it to sound harsh. Difficult on web sometimes. Sorry, realise it may have done. Just suddenly felt bit anxious about it
