I have just taken delivery of my R5 and initially found problems playing back 8K video on my PC which is quite high spec. (i7 Geforce 1080ti 32gb Ram). To cut a long story short make sure to install the HEVC codec. I did not realise that this was not installed with the Canon software so it may save some time and headscratching.
