Hi, Jay. This isn't a critique thread but I notice that both are underexposed. Photoshop Elements seems to have stripped out all of the useful exif data so I can't tell what camera you used or what your settings were. But I suggest that you practise locking your exposure on something not too bright and not too dark then reframing to take the shot. It looks like the camera metered off of the guy's bright white shirt in the second one; no idea what happened in the first one.

Having said all that, they're nice, sharp photos of interesting subjects.

I think it was because i was using aperture priority on my new camera today and it was on -2.5 for the beginning of the morning until i noticed the huge compensation....

Hope that makes sense for the underexposure.
