Changes to Flickr and Yahoo

Just noticed a note on my Flickr page informing me that as of 18 Sept Flickr and Yahoo will become part of the Verizone family of companies, and they intend to share some of our user information within the group to basically send us junk mail. Apparently, there is an opt out clause...hmmm...I fear it could be the end of Flickr for me. What are your thoughts?
