"Colour Me Happy!"
Post Processing Week Day 4
Tonight i had a play with some fo the built-in filter effects in the PSPX2. This is the Contours effect (with a bit of additional tweaking)
I quite like the effect - it remids me of the paint by numbers kits i used to play with as a kid![]()
I think the 1st shot of toady's is 1st class portrait Chris, love it, conversion and DoF is spot on![]()
Catching up Chris. the mosaic effect works well on yesterday's pic and today's are excellent, the B&W suits them really well.![]()
I like her new hair!![]()
Thanks Adele, i'll let her know - she will be please!
She looks all grown up with her hair like that (to me anyway)
I want new pictures, of the girls, with their new hair, you can see it,but not properly cos she has her head slightly tilted![]()

The B&Ws work very well, keep 'em coming!![]()
Another cracking mono today![]()
Yeah mono conversion is not easy to get right. I never use the auto settings. I prefer to use the Channel mixer (set to mono obviously) and adjust each RGB channel until I got the result I like. Depending on the colours in the shot I tend to move one of the RGB channels to the left whilst moving the other 2 towards the right (note: Ansel Adams type effect are just extremes of these adjustments). One final tip too is to apply a cross-processing effect if you are converting to mono, sometimes this can add even more punch (used both these techniques on my shot today). Anyway that's just the approach I have found over time.
Good luck, look forward to more mono's, I love em![]()

Just popping in the thread to say I'm still following and catching up when I can
She sure does look more grown up with that new hairstyle too!
And yes, they do grow up way too quick. Before you know it, all your tax breaks are gone![]()
I bet Caitlin loves her new grown-up hairstyle Chris. Two lovely shots.
Did Rebecca have her hair done too?
