Yes
I heard is a killer. what to do to aviod it? was out walking now and my camera was hit by a few tiny drops of rain.

. could it cause condensation?
. if i wipe it is enough?
. should i let it out to dry on its own?
. should i take the lens off the camera and let them dry on thier own?
. should i run around screaming aimlessly until i drop off a cliff?

p.s it was much water and also i usually store my equip in their backpack. i know its bad but thats the place i have to keep

It's normally worse going from a warm place to a cold place, a few drops of rain should be ok, just wipe em off.

Ahh ok just read the end of your post the ps bit, dry em off as much first before taking them apart.

thats bad then. Outside is cold, car and camera vs my body is warm. Its not like u can aviod that

The trick is to try and let your kit warm up/cool down gradually, and as moto says some silica/desicant packs in your Camera bag

Actually it 's the other way round; it's worse going from a cold place to a warm place.

When your eqipment is cold, taking it in to a warm environment will cause condensation to form as the warm air comes in to contact with the cold surfaces.

Ask anyone who wears glasses who has been out in the cold and then walks in to a warm room.

Under those circumstances it's best to put your kit somewhere dry and airy to let it dry out completely before putting it away. The worst thing to do is put it away wet or covered in condensation.

Generally in UK its not anything to worry about. I've had no trouble at all going in an out the house in current weather.
Make sure you have some little silica gel packs in your kit bag.

I agree, but only if you replace them on a regular basis.

I've not had a problem with condensation. Shooting in butterfly farms the humidity is so high the condensation takes about 20-30 minutes to clear.

when u say cold. How cold is cold? Im not in UK. Here is cold ok with temp in morning going round 10 degreesC well at least today. Nowhere going to - freezing. But we have humide country which makes cold more biting

from where u people buy silca gel? what sort of shops sell them?

What country are you in? Your best to talk to other local camera users.

Silca from ebay. or Shoe boxes, or other electrical items.

Rain on the exterior of the camera isn't an issue as long as the camera is reasonably weatherproof - check your manufacturer's recommendations for that - generally speaking, the more expensive, the better sealed against the elements...

Condensation is a problem going from cold to warm.

Typically anywhere around 0-5C into another environment 15C or more higher and with a higher humidity.

Precautions to be taken to avoid routine condensation include putting the camera away into its camera bag and zipping it up before going indoors. This allows the equipment to gradually rise to ambient tempreature - it's the instant change of temperature and humidity that causes the damage.

If you're working in extreme environmental conditions, again consult the manufacturer's recommendations and then have a quick search for Arctic/Desert/Jungle shooting tips here - it's been covered a few times.
