Hi

So although living only a few miles from Duxford, I've never actually been to a show. Tickets booked for Saturday and I'll have my kit with me so hoping my new Sigma 150-600 will work out ok. Any tips on the place itself, best places to take photos from etc..? Knowing my luck, it'll be raining :D.

Cheers

Andy

With such focal length Andy, at a distance from the ring
for sure but not too far as it could give you some possibly
dramatic portraits!

Thanks, where's the ring though? Got my 150-600, 11-16 and 17-55 so want to get lots of ground shots as well.

Well, that's a different ball game!

The question is no longer "how far" but "how much"
will you will be free to move.

If you can move, try to get very close to the ring — like
the elbows on it — but I doubt it will be permitted. If not,
the 17 to 55 will serve you well for full figures but you will
have the cables in the shots.

If the floor is flat, you will have to chose a distance the may
permit your longer lens to sneak between the cables. You
will have to guess where to sit. Good luck!

Duxford is an airshow, the fighters are aeroplanes.

If you get to a boxing ring then you know!

I thought the ring was some safety device after the hunter crash!

Anyone been to duxford this year? Is the naughty field harder to access than last or the same?

Last time I went was this time last year and the naughty field was ok if you kept to the edge by the hedgerow. Whoever own's the land had hired security to stop people trespassing on the fields. The field opposite the school was very busy.
