EXIF Viewers - Your one stop shop

Thanks

Exifpilot is very neat. Not a plugin but an exe that you have to install -- but it lets you both export and import exif information. This is very useful for me because I do macro stacking, and of course the exif always gets lost during a stack. So I always import it back in from a single frame afterwards.

Very old thread this, but I'll stick with it. Can anyone recommend an exif viewer for Mac? The ones recommended earlier in the thread no longer exist as far as I can tell.

I'm currently OS 10.12.6 There are a few apps in the store, but many don't seem to have been updated recently. Ideally I'd like to be able to view RAW as well as Jpeg. That seems to be a limitation on some.

I used to have one on my old Mac but that died.

PIE - Picture Information Extractor - from www.picmeta.com. There are free and pay-for versions but I've not needed anything but the free one. It's just told me to download a new version so it's still current.

Nope, Avast is quite happy with it. Looking at Malwarebyte's error message I suspect it's just being over cautious.

Kuso, as mentioned by realspeed, is good for a quick look but doesn't get as much out of the EXIF as PIE and also is abandonware as the author hasn't updated it since 2009. These two facts may be connected.......

There's nothing to beat ExifTool if you don't mind the command line. Even if you do, there are several direct GUIs, and many of the other packages in this thread are using it behind the scenes. It will be celebrating its 17th birthday later this year, but was last updated a couple of weeks ago:
