The Gnarled Oak

The Bass Rock is a volcanic plug of phonolitic trachyte rock dating back some 340 million years or so. It wasn't only crafted by nature, but also decorated(!) by up to 150,000 northern gannets who take their latin name from it (Morus bassanus). Nikon F80, Sigma 70-300 Apo, Delta 100, replenished Xtol.
