At least it reacted!

I don't have any authority over wildlife as you seem to enjoy… very jealous.
They all just ignore me, total indifference.
 
Daniel this is the nearest I have ever been to a heron. It was not bothered that I and Max (our dog) were there. I prepared to take a shot of it departing and started to talk to it saying "give me a pose come on" the foot appeared and I took the shot. It did not fly away for several minutes, I did not get it taking of because Max was pulling me strongly on his lead to greet a young lady approaching.
I call it "it" as I do not know the difference between the sexes of an Heron. :)
