Hi Everyone,

A keen new snapper hear, was hoping anyone could give me some ideas and locations for a day out to get some pictures. Been to many zoos so was looking for somthing different.

I am located in Essex/East London, i dont mind traverling for an hours drive.

I know you must read many messages like this, so i am sorry but i suppose we all have to start somewhere.

All have a good evening.

Andy

welcome again

you can gain loads of experience just round your streets..parks..and country areas

i found greenwich interesting on my days out in london
and i would suggest waterways and boats..loads of detail and old bits
and fresh air

best of luck

ps are you a big gun or a happy snappy guy...point and shoot brigade
i wish you well
geof

Oh heck another Andy, that's 4 of us now

Again live a good number of miles away so cant really help you, although I have been on Holiday to Norfolk, which is near there. You can get some great sunset pictures from there!

Thank you for all the nice welcomes.

As i am at the starting line i think "Big Gun" would be to cocky for me to use  but i am not a "Point and shot person" Unlike the Mrs.

I am hoping i will learn from you guys "No presure"

Very open minded to location ideas, as i am always willing to add to my long list of interests.

I was looking on the web last night and found Richmond Park, anyone been?

Not been there with the camera, but was there a few years ago. Something a bit closer to home for you as a suggestion would be Hainault Forest, or Epping. If you go with the latter, there are some lovely villiages out that way for interesting buildings, etc., the forest itself has some great trees, and fields for landscapey, shots or macro.
Not too sure where you're located (I grew up in Seven Kings before moving to Romford, then Grays and Canvey) but if you jump in the car and head out along the A13 there's Southend seafront less than an hour away, chavtastic people shots, and the pier, old Leigh, for some boats seafood and a quick pint or Tilbury fort (you'd need to check opening times, haven't been there for years).

Failing that, go into town and have a wander along the Southbank, if you cross the Thames at Tower Bridge, you can walk all the way along, Some great opportunities there.

Just a few suggestions, to start you off, not knowing what you prefer to taker pictures of it's a bit tricky. Good luck though and looking forward to seeing some of the reults posted here.

Welcome to the forums !
