It's been on the cards for a while and I didn't want to say anything before now in case I jinxed it but it looks like I'm about to get a big break in the world of motorsport photography :woot:

I've been offered press passes for any motorsport event in the UK that I wish to travel to this year by a very large media group specialising in motorsports news and, well media!

I'll get an FTP account to upload my shots post-event and will get paid on a freelance basis for any shot they use.

Obviously I'm not giving up my day job just yet but this is a fantastic opportunity for me and to be perfectly honest I'm over the moon. At the informal chat I had with them last month they hinted that if I do some good work this year there is a possibility they will offer me a full time job travelling the world, all expenses paid, to cover the F1 circus and other various MotoGP and suchlike during the alternate F1 weekends...or WRC events during the F1 off-season :D :D :D

I can't say how chuffed I am....quite frankly I think most of my motorsports shots are *****! But hey, I'm glad they thought otherwise when they took a look at my site and portfolio!

As they say... it's on, like Donkey Kong :p

I intend to! I'll only have myself to blame if it doesn't. I can see a lot of long days watching motorsports from the trackside coming up this summer. It's a dirty job....(y)

As I have a really big interest in motorsports and will be dipping my toe into it this year..any hints and tips would be amazing as what you are doing would be my dream job,travelling the world doing WRC,F1 etc

I'm really excited, and at the same time really nervous already...and the season hasn't even started yet!

As for new kit, well that's always nice but I'll stick with what I've got for the time being and then think about investing in a second body and a fast prime telephoto later on. No sense running before I can walk, so to speak.

Anyway I'll keep you all updated with my progress and rely on your wisdom and advice (as usual) in the meantime (y)
