How many flickr hits a day do you get?

Yes
I used to get around 30 a day, but since I started uploading again it's jumped about to around 100 a day. My best ever was something like 300. Anyway what's your normal number of views?

Usually get about 100-120 per day but did have a 'golden period' when I wrote a rather inflammatory post on a discussion forum that saw several days at 850+ before it got back to normal. Trouble with stats is you get addicted when it actually means nothing in reality :D

My photostream averages around the high 20's. Really don't get that much activity tbh.

About 25 if I am lucky, but sometimes I take something good and it goes up to 80+ this is quite rare.

:D

You should turn it into a poll, could be quite interesting...

Depends on how many comments you make on others images, they then visit yours. I average around 150 a day. It does surprise me as to the shots people favourite though.

Just from the last 30 days stats, it looks like I hover around the 350 mark, with a peak of just under 700. In that time I have uploaded just 1 photo. Last month's POTY entry.

Can't say I ever look.

It's rare that I bother with a title or tags though.

none... flickr is rubish ..

I get about 2 million picture views a year through fotopic.net though :)

I had a wierd one in dec.. photo of the manchester wheel, not in any groups.. no comments but got 1,400 views in a day.. no links to any external sites, never got to the bottom of it!

had a bumper day yesterday, over 3,000 views as I got on explore.. but thats a rarity!

Am I missing something...Flickr..?

There, there. :D

I get about 500 views on fotopic the day after a Chesham United match - otherwise it's pretty quiet!

I get about 30-50 views on flickr most days. I used to get hung up about it but now I mostly use it as somewhere to refer people to and also to follow folk whose stuff I like - I can sometimes manage a whole hour without checking my stats page.

Its actually quite important long term ... I know through following the picture hits excactly what type of picture gets viewed most thus what to make sure I get and what sells best..

no its where I host 93 thousand pictures and make it look like its part of my website.. soemthing i have never seen flickr manage to do :)

Fair, it's probably doable with flickr, but you'd have to directly link to every image I suppose.

So the next logical question is, how do you promote your flickr pages? Is it just open to all and let it grow naturally or sneek onto some groups and add your photos...

The problem is, most people who look at your photos on Flickr/Smugmug or any other portfolio type of site are other photographers and not people who would willingly pay for your images or to use your services which, for those who have a photography business, doesn't really count for nothing. If however you are just showing off your images then it is ideal.

I think your bob on there .. which is why using a photo hosting service that you can make part of your website is the better option ... well hosting them yourself is the best option.. but sometimes thats not viable.. Poeple dont really know my 93 thousand pics are on fotopic.net unless I tell them.. just looks like part of my website. And I get a lot of print sales :)

About 75 on average. The best way to get more views is to add people as friends/contacts (see my link below if you fancy).

But views are pretty meaningless to me - I'd rather people say what they like/dislike about an image. Trouble with flickr is people very rarely post a proper critique on images. And those pretty "awards" :bang:

Yeah I was going to post on here that you obviously know your onions because your doing it the way a business minded photographer should do it :)

Hi Ryan, out of curiousity, you obviously have a business going - why do you use Flickr?

I have no idea!!

Flickr came along before I started my business so that's the main reason. Also, most of what goes on flickr is non-business related - it's just a chance to share what I'm doing with the world and (more importantly) friends and contacts.

Sadly I don't spend as much time doing non-business pictures anymore. So my uploads to Flickr are MUCH less than they were 12 months ago.

As you know I also have my business page. But funnily enough most of my stuff goes on my Facebook RJP page before it goes anywhere else. :)

I hope I'm not teaching my granny to suck eggs here but when your trying to build up a brand, one of the best things to do to prospective clients of yours is to give the perception that your work is fairly exclusive. By using flickr to show off some of your images, that exclusivity goes out of the window, because it hosts 4 billion other images.

I varies quite a lot, i would say on a normal day between 150-200, in saying that on Monday there were nearly 2000 views.

Definitely depends on when you upload and what sort of content. I add my images into various different groups so get a lot of hits through those.
