Yes or No.

I was just about to do this myself :)

By the time I have bought one in the UK and lost the money from the theiving Chinese people at Link Delight I will have spent nearly as much as getting one from Nikon. At least I bought the one from Link Delight with 2 batteries which are OK so it cost me £65 for 2 batteries!!

oh....this poll

It won't be me :nono: and I doubt Ian would be interested, someone else can always do it though ;)

Isn't it "Meike"?

I bought one and while I hate grips, these seem to be excellent. But Link Delight has this covered already.

Pehaps these are grips to put under a dishwasher to stop it moving?:p

But they are a bunch of #€<~<%€<?>>>?<€~<€<<€€?#}{#^<$¥.

Meile? How does smearing honey on your camera help you hold onto it better?

:D

you mean MIEKE! and yeah, linkdelight and an array of other ebay sellers do indeed have it covered already, however they're all based in china so posting stuff back there is problematic at best.

In all seriousness Ian, there must be a whole load of people that would happily pay £20ish more for the same thing if they were posted from within the UK, though I do full well realise that that would not be all profit for you, what with tax etc.

camtech £75 i believe

link delight have allways been ok with me was i lucky?

Have you got a link to their site so I can see prices? Do they sell grips for all cameras? I do have stock of grips for Canon & Nikon non-branded!

They are great prices, sorry can't compete. Regards Ian.

Hi Ian,
What it is is that a TP member brought this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Grip-MB-D10-fo...item2c531cb4f6
on arrival it did not work and he sent it all the way back to china and they say they never got it, thus he lost £60
he just said it would be good if you sold it then it would be less hassle.

Can you post on that thread what grips you do sell as i like many others would like one but cant afford a Nikon one for £190

Kind regards
Tony

Trouble is, what price would these things have to be bought at and sold at by a UK dealer to deal allow for all of these reliability issues to be paid for?

Its great you all banging on about not wanting to send them back to China, but what do you think our dealer friends have to do with broken products? That eats into profits probably so much that you are out of pocket - just like the consumer!

Well they sent me an email this morning saying that the grip had arrived (took about 6 weeks from here to China!) so hopefully I should get a working replacement soon!

Personally I would probably have paid say £64.99 in this country but no more, taking the addition of VAT into account that would have been close. Nobody expects there to be a problem until it happens.

The simple answer to that, and it applies equally to returning goods in this country, is to use a shipping method that is trackable.....online

They told me to send it normal air mail and get a certificate of posting, which I did. I expected that they would replace it just with the certificate as the chances of it going missing are slim and they would end up paying out more with lots of bigger shipping bills than the very occasional lost item. They are a big company so thought that I would be ok. Wouldn't do it again though and very nearly didn't do it that time!

Phottix are reporting (11th Feb) that "there have been some reports of Phottix Battery Grips for Nikon D300 and D700 DSLRs not working correctly after Nikon firmware upgrades".

I have no idea as to whether this may also apply to the Link Delight grips, but it could well be Nikon have found away to block 3rd party grips the way they have with batteries. Having said that, the Chinese usually manage to find a way round such things.....

do you know which cameras and/or battery combinations are affected ?

my 7DayShop battery seems ok in my D40............
