Right then, more advise needed.

I have a couple of shots up on Alamy and am guessing the best way for them to get exposure is to get the Keywords right? I'm not expecting miracles (to be honest am not expecting to sell anything) but you never know and if they're not there you don't stand a chance lol.

How do you keywork your images?

An example below:

[Essential Keywords]
Collie, Dog, Sleep, Paws, Bearded, Nose

[Main Keywords]
Collie, Dog, Sleep, Paws, Bearded, Nose, Bearded Collie

[Comprehensive Keywords]
Collie, Dog, Sleep, Paws, Bearded, Nose, Bearded Collie

I can't think what else to put or if I'm putting the right sort of thing in there.

Can nobody on here offer any advice? Or is successful promotion on Alamy such a secretive art nobody wants to help?

if i had any ideas or success i would but i dont so i wont. others are probably thinking, why make you more successful thats more competition for me

So suck it and see then. If a pro is worried about my photo's then something is seriously wrong lol

My contribution to Alamy is currently sitting at 100 images.
I'm interested to see that you have repeated your essential keywords in your main keywords and your main keywords in your comprehensive keywords.
I keep the entries in those 3 boxes different.

None of that has helped I'm aware.
Ummm, when I'm not sure about keywording I look up a similar image that's already on Alamy and see how that's tagged. Obv not always entirely possible but you can usually find a close match to what your putting in and they way they are tagged sometimes gives you ideas.
Certainly helped me decide to stop entering comprehensive details in the caption, description and location boxes.

Re competition:
If there's one thing doing an FE photography course has taught me it's that no matter how many photographers are around you, 75% of them are just there coz they think holding a camera is cool, 10% of them wouldn't mind being photographers but are so lazy and immature that they can't make a hand in date so what are they going to be like in the 'real world' and 10% really want to be photographers but lack the eye/artistic flair/dedication.
That leaves 5% you need to worry about.
Out of which 4.9% are probably interested in a different type of photography to you so ****** it, give people help when they are sensible enough to ask.

<Essential (50)>

Don't forget:

How about emotions? He looks sad, alone, hungry, loyal ................ - Stick a couple of those into a theasauras and that should keep you busy!

Not that my keywording has led to ANY form of success on Alamy, so I could be barking up the wrong tree
