Hi, not a lot of traffic on this thread hoping you can help.
Just bought an S5D with S 18-40 lens used with less than 300 actuations from UK dealer for a totally stupid price!
Hardly used it but it seems a very nice and easy to use camera. I will use it for holiday and landscapes, no videos or action photography.
Also bought a bargain priced S 24-105 off eBay, bargain priced as it has white spots/fungus on an internal element, which the seller had described. I have very briefly tested it against the 18/40 and it is at least as good, also good from 50-105mm, so spots etc not impinging too badly on image quality. Seems a really nice lens, but from scouring the internet, some Lumix lenses seem to suffer from this problem.
Looking to buy a Lumix 14/28 and 70/300 for landscape work, but am concerned that they may also suffer white spot/fungus eventually and loose value.
Any comments re Lumix internal element deterioration appreciated, particularly what will happen to my 24/105, serial number states made in 2019, how long until it becomes unusable?
I'm retired and have only ever taken photos for pleasure not money but am looking for a system that will allow me to take beautiful landscapes.
Previously used a 6D with f4 L lenses and Fuji XT20 with 10/24, 16/80 and 55/200.
